The Kankoda Design System is Being Rolled Out

The new Kankoda web design system is being rolled out, and is currently actively used on four websites - this main one, and the company’s KeyboardKit, Appamini, and Wally product sites.

KeyboardKit

Being the product site of an SDK, the KeyboardKit sticks with the same visual style as this website. The design system’s built-in sync capabilities makes it easy to sync changes in both directions.

Wally

Since the Wally app has a distinct, skeumorphic design, we decided to tweak the color scheme to dark, apply a background skin texture, and apply the app’s signature font, while keeping the overall layout.

This makes the resulting Wally website fit right in with the brand guidelines, while getting a very distinct look that clearly separates it from the rest.

Appamini

Just like Wally, the Appamini apps have a distinct, playful design, that we wanted reflected in the new website. We therefore kept most things intact, but added clouds to the top, and applied a handwriting font.

This makes the resulting Appamini website fit right in with the brand guidelines, while getting a distinct look. We are very happy with it.

Remaining Work

Since we have gathered most of our apps and SDKs on this website, we don’t have the same amount of sites as before. We therefore only have the Daniel Saidi website left to migrate.

This will be quite an undertaking, since it involves migrating a lot of pages, including many completely separate designs. We may therefore decide to make them into separate sub-domains as part of this work.
